About Carolyn Simmons
My experience
I am an experienced lawyer with broad-based court experience, practising mostly in the areas of family law and wills and estates. I have practised in community, public and private-sector roles.
I have cross-functional expertise in policy, program, communication and legislative areas.
I also have a wide range of experience in other industries, from domestic and personal cleaning to safety management in construction and aviation, as well as effective communication coaching.
My philosophy
I work with each client to find and implement a solution that is right for them.
I challenge my clients to look at their problem from many angles and to continue to assess their aims and their approach throughout a matter.
I encourage my clients to engage with professionals from other disciplines to build a team that can provide the full range of support that they will need to navigate all aspects of the problem they face.
I am passionate about resolving conflict peacefully and about the rule of law. (Also about singing and growing veggies.)
I strive to be life-long learner. I have learnt a great deal from my clients over the years. The most important lessons I have learned - to be patient and to persevere - were taught to me by my patient and persistent children.
